From 11. – 13. October 2019 this year’s General Rapport was held in Sopron\/Hungary. With over 120 participants and accompaniments from our member clubs from all over Europe, the event was well attended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To kick off,\nPresident Major General iTR Michael Blaha, MSc, welcomed the attendees to an\naperitif in the beautiful setting of Hotel Pannonia, which was to be the center\nfor all three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the\naccompaniments had a tourist train ride and a visit to the Fire Tower,\ndelegates worked their way through the plenary’s extensive agenda. The\nPresident and all other officials presented the extensive work of the past year\nin detail and were pleased to accept the approval and discharge of the\nparticipants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With\nWachtmeister iTR Roland Ott as Chairman of the Justice board, Major iTR\nWolfgang Hess as a member of the Justice board and Rittmeister iTR Martin\nKeller as Secretary General, several vacant positions have been filled. The\nfirst day then found its comradely conclusion with a dinner together with Hungarian\nbuffet and drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday\nmorning was marked by the public ceremony. Under the command of Lieutenant iTR\nAlfred Cunat more than 100 uniformed men \u2013 reinforced by some Hungarian\ncomrades \u2013 marched on. In his ceremonial address, Major General iTR Michael\nBlaha, MSc, talked about the close and necessary cohesion of the UEHMG in\npublic. As a special highlight, Baron Vinzenz Stimpfl-Abele handed over the\n“Sub Auspiciis” seal of the House of Habsburg to the UEHMG on behalf\nof SKKH Karl von Habsburg. Also the honoring of some deserving comrades could\nbe accomplished during the ceremony. With a General de Charge and a Defilee the\nceremony came to a dignified end and they gathered to the joint photo in front\nof the monument in the park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the\nafternoon, a visit to the nearby Esterhazy Castle in Fert\u00f6d was on the program,\nwhich took place in the Deutschmeister Bus. Returning to Sopron, the Hussar\nRegiment 9 invited to its small, lovely museum, where salami, cheese and wine\nwere waiting for a local refreshment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the evening,\nthe gala dinner of the General Rapport took place, with live music and dancing\nonce again offering a highlight. The evening in an amicable and comradely\nenvironment lasted until the early hours of the morning, during which good\nconversations gave birth to some interesting ideas for the future.\n\nWith the mass in the Dominican Church on Sunday this successful General\nRapport 2019 ended, bringing the taste for the 30th anniversary of the UEHMG\nnext year in Varazdin.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n
