{"id":8534,"date":"2026-05-06T08:44:43","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T06:44:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uewhg.eu\/?p=8534"},"modified":"2026-05-06T08:46:19","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T06:46:19","slug":"fruehjahrsparade-linz-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uewhg.eu\/en\/2026\/05\/06\/fruehjahrsparade-linz-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring parade in Linz"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The historic 7th Dragoon Regiment \u2018Herzog von Lothringen und Bar\u2019 held its now traditional spring parade on Saturday, 18 April 2026, blessed with fantastic weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The insignia troop from our long-standing partner, the Heeresunteroffiziersakademie Enns Enns (HUAk Enns), was also in attendance, as was a delegation from the Peace Keepers, the LIR2 Linz regimental band led by music director Ing. Michael Sfnauer, the Aigen-Schl\u00e4gl band under music director Georg Dumfart, the honour guard of the Regau Battalion under Major iTR Hubert Niederfriniger, as well as traditional units from the Czech Republic, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Germany and Austria, plus civic corps and guards from all over Austria \u2013 a total of more than 400 people! Many guests of honour \u2013 from the military and politics \u2013 also attended the event at the main square of Linz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 2.00 pm, the parade began at Schiller Park under the command of 1st Lt iTR Mag. Johannes Teuschl and proceeded along Landstra\u00dfe, flanked by a large crowd of spectators, to the main square. There, the unit reported to Colonel Rudolf Halbartschlager, MA, MSD, of the HUAk Enns, and one verse of the national anthem as well as one verse of the imperial anthem were sung as a tribute to the traditional units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the welcome address to the guests of honour and the units by the commander of the 7th Infantry Regiment, Major iTR Alexander Sascha Eckhardt, MBA, the cleric of the regiment, Chaplain Mag. Jakob Stichlberger, led the religious service.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The intercessions were traditionally recited in Czech, Polish, Croatian, Slovenian, Italian and German.
